How much does it cost a sender to comply with the law?
ANSWER:
Senders of prohibited messages are required to comply with the law by scrubbing their mailing lists of registered addresses. A fee is charged per address checked to cover the cost of maintaining the registry and enforcing the law. The fee is currently set at seven tenths of a cent ($0.007).
