PROTECT MI CHILD LAW INFORMATION

The Michigan Children's Protection Registry Act forbids the sending of electronic messages advertising products or services a child is forbidden from purchasing to addresses that have been registered under the provisions of the law.

For detailed information on compliance, you can visit the Protect MI Child compliance website: Michigan.gov/protectmichild/compliance/. The statutes and associated administrative rules are available online:
This website provides the mechanism for senders to scrub their lists against the Protect MI Child registry.

Since each sender/marketer has unique characteristics that will determine coverage under the state statute, the Protect MI Child Registry staff is not able or permitted to make a determination about whether your company needs to be in compliance or is in compliance with the Act. In addition, any information that you receive from the Customer Support Center should not be relied upon as legal advice or an official policy statement from the State of Michigan. Please consult an attorney for legal advice.
